![]() Gourmand White Flowers (Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb): Close to the original, but less sweet candy and more floral. Woody Chestnut (Replica By the Fireplace): This is so similar! It’s like the smell of fire and crackling wood and embers in the wintertime. I don’t remember that in the original, but I could be wrong. However, it fades into a slightly sour fragrance. I have sampled Black Opium many times and couldn’t tell a difference in Dossier’s version at all. I’ve sprayed this on my clothes, and it lasts for days (although it progressively fades within a day)įloriental Vanilla (YSL Black Opium): Very very similar to YSL’s. It is sweet and powdery and potent, like marshmallows drenched in sweet syrup. I don’t own LDBS and only sampled it a few times, but this is exactly like I remember. Individual reviews:įloriental marshmallow (Kilian Love, Don’t be Shy): Amazing. I ordered dupes for Kilian Love, Don’t be Shy, YSL Black Opium, Replica By the Fireplace, V&R Flowerbomb, and YSL Libre. The package arrived in less than a week, which is super impressive. I love the fact that returns are made easy and judgement free, and how they donate returned bottles to charity. ![]() The Gabrielle dupe fades completely and is undetectable after 5 hours, and then I have to reapply.I placed an order of five fragrances during their Black Friday sale. It's what I imagined the original Libre would smell like, (it's pretty much the daytime cold weather version of the Intense lol, since I have had the Libre Intense since it was released last year and have heard they're pretty much identical save for a few notes that make Intense more for nighttime events in colder weather).įor longevity, I'll have to say that Dossier is missing the mark just a bit, but they actually last longer on my skin than I was expecting them to, the clones of Libre and Soleil Blanc lasting with moderate projection for about 5-6 hours before becoming a faint skin scent (I get about 7 to 8 hours TOTAL weartime for these 2, including the skin scent period, before they fade completely), and the clone of Gabrielle lasting with moderate projection for about 4 hours before turning into a skin scent. For Libre, I don't have original YSL Libre fragrance (never even sampled it), but I do have a bottle of the Libre Intense, and I have to say that I get the same facets (minus the deep vanilla tonka bean that the Libre intense version has of course) and similar construction of base notes, mid notes and top notes from clone to the flanker of the real Libre, so it's pretty close. I get all the facets of the scent it's replicating. YMMV, but the soapy drydown wasn't the case with my skin chemistry (thankfully).Ĭurrently, I'm working on using up the samples for the 3 I bought (can't remember Dossier's names offhand, but I have their inspirations for Chanel Gabrielle, YSL Libre, and Tom Ford Soleil Blanc), and while the only designer perfume I've tried of these 3 is Chanel Gabrielle, I compared my Chanel Gabrielle sample next to the Dossier version (I think it's called Floral Ylang Ylang?) and it's pretty much on the mark exact to the opening and drydown I get from Chanel. I bought 3 and I actually think they're good! They work on me, but I've heard some people say that the drydown of Dossier perfumes on them is just Ivory soap, or just soapy in general, and is nothing like the fragrance it's trying to replicate. I've tried a few of Dossier's 'inspirations' and they're working pretty well for me so far! I tried steering clear from them because everybody was hyping them up and kissing their butts to no end on Youtube, and I had heard horror stories about their customer service and delivery times (the latter of which I think is better now, because I placed my order, got the shipping notification 2 days later, and received my package within 3 days of the ship date. But the sample and send back policy of Dossier makes it a no brainer. you can look at Alexandria Fragrances (I’ve never tried those but Alexandria gets good reviews). I want to try a few others but will enjoy these for now. I’d have no problem buying them as a gift either. The other 2 to me are so good I don’t feel the need to try the original, on their own merit they smell great. I get about 6-8 hour performance from these. It is very close in sent some subtle differences. Of the three I bought : Spicy Vetiver, Citrus Ginger, Aromatic Pineapple, I’ve only smelled the “original “ of one - Spicy Vetiver which is inspired by Hermès Terre D’Hermes. They say “ inspired by” so I’m not sure if they are trying for an exact dupe or something close with their own twist. I bought 3 b/c you get free shipping and like 18% off. They send each fragrance with a sample for you to try.
